Preheat the air fryer to 325 degrees F and line a 6 inch square or round cake pan with parchment paper making sure to let the parchment paper extend up the sides of the pan.
Place the butter, brown sugar, sugar and cocoa powder in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave in 20 second intervals, stirring after each interval, until the butter is melted and ingredients are combined.
Stir in the vanilla extract and let the mixture cool slightly.
Then mix in the egg and flour until combined.
Stir in half of the chocolate chips. Pour the batter in the prepared pan and top with the remaining chocolate chips.
Air fry at 325 degrees F for 15 minutes. Check the brownies. If the brownies are not done, cook in 5 minute intervals until the brownies are cooked through. The edges should be set and a toothpick inserted into the center of the brownies comes out clean (make sure not to insert into a chocolate chip).
Let the brownies cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes. Then use the parchment paper to remove the brownies from the pan. Cut, serve and enjoy!
Notes
Each air fryer cooks differently so the bake times will vary. Make sure to check regularly until the brownies are cooked through. Leftover brownies can be stored in an airtight container or bag at room temperature for up to 5 days.
