Cream of mushroom Recipe
It is so easy to make homemade cream of mushroom soup. Don't buy the canned stuff and make this easy recipe at home. It tastes amazing!

Ingredients
1/2
cup
1 stick butter

tablespoons
all-purpose flour

cup
chicken stock
1
cup
milk or half-and-half
1
teaspoon
salt
1/2
teaspoon
pepper
1/2
teaspoon
garlic powder
1/2
cup
Mushrooms
sliced and sauteed
Instructions
In a medium saucepan melt butter over a medium-low heat
Add in flour and whisk together until well combined
Add chicken stock and milk, whisk until smooth, about 1-2 minutes
Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder
Bring to a simmer and cook until it begins to thicken, about 3-5 minutes
Add in any additional ingredients like chicken, mushrooms or celery
Remove from heat and allow to cool completely
Store in airtight container in refrigerator
Notes
You can also use beef broth for a slightly different flavor.
