Place 4 salmon filets on a plate. Rub 1 tablespoon vegetable oil evenly onto both sides of the salmon filets.
Sprinkle 2 tablespoons blackening seasoning evenly over both sides of the salmon, using approximately ½ tablespoon seasoning per filet. Adjust the amount to your preferred spice level.
Heat the remaining 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a cast iron skillet over high heat.
Place the salmon filets into the hot skillet and cook undisturbed for 3 minutes so a dark crust forms on the outside.
Flip the salmon and cook for another 2–3 minutes, until the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
Remove the salmon to a separate plate and allow it to rest for a few minutes.
Serve warm and enjoy!
