Make this Blue Raspberry Lemonade as a fun and refreshing drink to beat the heat this summer. The combination of the ingredients makes this a family favorite.
Blue food coloringoptional, for a deeper blue color
Ice
Fresh raspberries and lemon slices for garnish
Instructions
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup granulated sugar and 1 cup water.
Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar has completely dissolved and a simple syrup forms.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow the simple syrup to cool completely.
In a large pitcher, combine 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice, the cooled simple syrup, 1 tablespoon blue raspberry flavoring syrup, and 4 cups cold water.
Stir the lemonade mixture well until fully combined.
If desired, add a few drops of blue food coloring until the lemonade reaches your preferred shade of blue.
Taste the lemonade and adjust the sweetness or strength by adding additional sugar or water if needed.
Refrigerate the lemonade for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Fill serving glasses with ice and pour the chilled blue raspberry lemonade over the ice.
Garnish with fresh raspberries and lemon slices before serving, if desired.
Notes
Freshly squeezed lemon juice provides the best flavor for homemade lemonade. Bottled lemon juice may be used if needed, but fresh lemons create a brighter and more vibrant taste.
