Peel the sweet potatoes and slice them into ½-inch thick rounds. Arrange them in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and sprinkle with the salt.
In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until the sugar dissolves. Do not let the mixture burn.
Pour the butter mixture evenly over the sweet potatoes, coating them as much as possible.
Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil.
Bake for 40–60 minutes, stirring every 15–20 minutes, until the sweet potatoes are fork-tender.
Serve warm and enjoy.
