Make Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookies for the best cookies with chewy centers and crispy edges. Delicious sweet and salty cookies that are perfect for any occasion.
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, vegetable oil, granulated sugar, and brown sugar with a stand mixer or hand mixer on medium speed for 2–3 minutes, until creamy.
Scrape down the sides of the bowl. Add the eggs and vanilla extract and mix until combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients by hand until just combined. Do not overmix.
Gently fold in the milk chocolate chips and chopped walnuts.
Drop tablespoon-sized portions of cookie dough onto baking sheets, spacing them apart.
Bake for 8–10 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden. Do not overbake; the centers may look slightly underdone but will continue to set as the cookies cool.
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
