In a large mixing bowl or storage bag, combine 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 cup yellow cornmeal, ½ cup white sugar, 1 teaspoon salt, and 3 teaspoons baking powder.
Stir or shake the mixture until fully combined.
Label the bag or container “Cornbread Mix” and store it in the pantry until ready to use.
When ready to bake the cornbread, preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Add 1 egg, 1 cup milk, and ? cup vegetable oil to the prepared cornbread mix.
Stir until the batter is smooth and fully combined.
Pour the batter into a greased baking dish or pan.
Bake for 20–25 minutes until the cornbread is golden brown and cooked through.
Allow to cool slightly before serving and enjoy!
