You are going to love these crispy, restaurant-style Cream Cheese Wontons. The cream cheese filling is stuffed into wonton wrappers and then fried for a delicious recipe. Easy 20-minute appetizer that everyone will love!
In a mixing bowl, combine 8 ounces softened cream cheese, 1 teaspoon powdered sugar, ½ teaspoon onion powder, ½ teaspoon salt, and 2 sliced green onions. Stir until fully combined.
Pour approximately 4 inches of vegetable oil into a large heavy-bottomed pan and heat over medium-high heat until the oil reaches 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
Place 1–2 teaspoons of the cream cheese mixture into the center of each of the 20 wonton wrappers.
Lightly dab the edges of each wrapper with water.
Fold the opposite corners of each wrapper toward the center and pinch the corners together tightly to seal and form a rangoon shape.
Continue assembling the rangoons until all the filling and wrappers are used.
Carefully place 5–6 rangoons at a time into the hot oil without overcrowding the pan.
Fry the rangoons for 2–3 minutes, turning as needed, until golden brown and crispy on all sides.
Remove the fried rangoons from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Repeat the frying process with the remaining rangoons.
Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces and enjoy!

Notes
In order to bake the Cream Cheese Wontons instead of frying, bake it at 400 degrees F for 12-15 minutes until they are lightly browned. Make sure to watch the oil while frying and monitor the temperature, if the oil gets over 370 degrees F, the wonton wrapper will likely burn. Make sure to securely pinch together the corners of the wonton papers so they do not come apart while cooking.
