Slow cooker baked ziti recipe is a delicious one pot meal perfect for busy weeks. Your family can enjoy a great meal with little work but tons of flavor.
1poundground beef(You can also use ground sausage or ground turkey)
½onionfinely chopped
2teaspoonsminced garlic
1teaspoonsalt
1egg
1tablespoonItalian Seasoning
3canscrushed tomatoes(14.5 oz)
1cupbeef broth
16ozziti pasta
1cupricotta cheese
2cupsMozzarella cheese(shredded)
¼cupparmesan cheese(shredded)
Instructions
In a large skillet, cook 1 pound ground beef and ½ finely chopped onion until browned. Break up the meat as it cooks.
Remove from heat and mix in 3 cans (14.5 ounces each) crushed tomatoes, 2 teaspoons minced garlic, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning, and 1 cup beef broth. Stir to combine.
In a small bowl, stir together 1 cup ricotta cheese, 1 egg, and ¼ cup shredded parmesan cheese.
Spread a small amount of the meat mixture into the bottom of the crock pot and make sure the entire bottom is covered.
Top the meat mixture with ½ of the 16 ounces ziti pasta, then pour ½ of the remaining meat sauce on top of the pasta.
Place spoonfuls of ½ of the ricotta cheese mixture on top of the sauce and sprinkle 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
Top with the remaining 8 ounces ziti pasta, remaining meat sauce, remaining ricotta cheese mixture, and remaining 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese.
Cover and cook for 1 1/2 - 2 hours on high until the pasta is tender.
Remove the lid from the crock pot and let the mixture sit for 10-15 minutes. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes
I recommended buying block mozzarella cheese and grating it my hand. It will melt better and will not be as greasy.Store the leftovers in an air tight container for up to 5-7 days.
