Easy Crockpot Dr Pepper Pulled Pork is a budget-friendly meal made with simple ingredients. The slow cooker creates tender, flavorful pork with minimal effort—perfect for busy nights or feeding a crowd.
Place 1 sliced onion in the bottom of a crock pot. Set 4 pounds pork shoulder or pork butt on top of the onion.
Season the pork with 1 tablespoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon pepper.
Pour 1 (12-ounce) can Dr Pepper around the pork.
Cover and cook on low for 8–10 hours or on high for 4–5 hours, until the pork shreds easily.
Remove the pork from the crock pot and shred it with two forks. Return the shredded pork to the crock pot and stir it into the juices.
Stir in 1 cup barbecue sauce and cook for 20–30 minutes until heated through.
Serve the shredded pork on buns.

Any dark soda can be substituted for Dr Pepper (root beer or Coca-Cola work well).If the pork isn’t tender, continue cooking until it shreds easily.Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
