This Easter Ham is loaded with sweet and savory flavor and cooks perfect every time. Make this spiral ham for your holiday dinner for an easy and delicious dish.
Place 1 bone-in smoked ham (5–7 pounds) cut-side down in a baking dish that is just large enough to hold it.
Pour ½ cup apple juice into the bottom of the baking dish.
In a small bowl, whisk together ½ cup packed brown sugar, 2 Tbsp whole grain mustard, 1 tsp ground cloves, 1 tsp ground cinnamon, and ¼ tsp ground nutmeg.
Brush the glaze mixture evenly over the entire ham, coating all exposed surfaces.
Pour the remaining ½ cup apple juice into the bottom of the baking dish around the ham.
Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil.
Bake for approximately 2 hours, basting the ham with the juices from the pan every 30 minutes.
Remove the foil and switch the oven to broil.
Broil the ham for 5–7 minutes, or until the glaze becomes caramelized and lightly browned.
Remove the ham from the oven and loosely tent it with foil.
Let the ham rest for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
Serve warm and enjoy.
Notes
Basting every 30 minutes ensures even glaze coverage and moisture retention. I highly recommend not skipping this important step!Giving the ham a quick run under the hot broiler at the end gives the glaze a chance to caramelize and get all golden and crispy.Letting rest wrapped in foil before slicing allows juices to redistribute evenly. Don't skip this step either.
