Frozen Strawberries
Instructions
Add the frozen strawberries and ½ cup of the ice to a blender. Blend until smooth and the ice is fully crushed.
If the mixture is too thick, add ¼ cup water and blend again until smooth.
Divide the strawberry mixture evenly among 4 serving glasses.
Rinse the blender.
Add the lemon juice, sugar, yellow food coloring (if using), and the remaining 2 cups ice to the blender. Blend until smooth and slushy.
Pour the lemonade mixture over the strawberry layer in each glass.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
Freshly squeezed lemon juice provides the brightest flavor, but bottled lemon juice can be substituted if needed.
The yellow food coloring is optional and is used only to give the lemonade a brighter color.
For the best layered appearance, pour the lemonade slowly over the back of a spoon.
Serve immediately before the slush begins to melt.
