Place 5 Italian sausage links in a large skillet. Add enough water to reach about ½ inch up the sides of the pan.
Bring the water to a simmer. Cover, reduce the heat to medium, and cook for 10–12 minutes until the sausage reaches an internal temperature of 160°F.
Remove the lid and continue cooking on medium-high heat until all the water evaporates.
Allow the sausages to brown slightly, turning them frequently to brown evenly on all sides.
Remove from heat, serve warm, and enjoy!

Notes

To Make on a Grill:

Preheat the grill to 350 degrees F.

Place the sausages on the grill.

Close the lid and cook the sausages for 15-20 minutes until they have reached an internal temperature for 160 degrees F. Turn the sausages occasionally to allow them to brown evenly.

To Make in the Oven:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Place the sausages on a baking sheet lined with foil.
