Make Parmesan Crusted Chicken for a simple chicken dish that everyone will love! This oven baked chicken has the best crispy texture, juicy center and amazing flavor.
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
Melt the butter in a shallow bowl or pie pan.
In a separate shallow bowl or pie pan, mix together the breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, parsley, salt, pepper and garlic powder.
Trim off any fat from the chicken breasts. Filet the chicken by cutting them in half lengthwise so that you have 8 pieces of chicken.
Dip both sides of the chicken breasts in the butter to coat the chicken with the butter.
Quickly dip the chicken in the bread crumb mixture and press the mixture into both sides of the chicken breasts to make sure that it’s thoroughly coated.
Place the coated chicken breasts on the prepared baking sheet. Continue this process until all the chicken is coated.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping the chicken breasts halfway through the baking time, until the chicken is browned and the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.
Remove the chicken from the oven, let it rest for 5 minutes and then it’s ready to serve and enjoy!

Notes
Make sure to use grated parmesan cheese and not shredded parmesan cheese as shredded parmesan cheese will not stick to the chicken breasts. To filet the chicken breasts, place the chicken breast flat on a cutting board, then hold it steady with one hand and use a sharp knife to slice it horizontally into two even pieces. Keep the knife parallel to the board and use a gentle sawing motion for control. You may need an additional baking sheet based on the size of the chicken that you use for this recipe. If the chicken is not browning toward the end of the cooking time, you can broil the chicken breasts for 2-4 minutes to brown the outside of the chicken as well.
