Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Prepare 1 box red velvet cake mix according to the package directions using the required ingredients (eggs, oil, water, etc.).
Pour the batter into a well-greased 9x13-inch baking pan.
Bake according to the package instructions until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool for approximately 10 minutes.
Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the cake at approximately 1-inch intervals.
Slowly pour 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk evenly over the cake, allowing it to soak into the holes.
Cover the cake and refrigerate overnight.
To make the frosting, beat together 8 oz softened cream cheese and ¼ cup unsalted butter until smooth and combined.
Add 2 cups powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon milk, and ½ teaspoon vanilla extract. Beat until smooth.
Add an additional 1-2 tablespoons milk as needed until the frosting reaches your desired consistency.
Spread the frosting evenly over the chilled cake.
Sprinkle 1 cup mini chocolate chips evenly over the frosting.
Serve at room temperature or chilled.
Enjoy!
