Red Velvet Waffles is served with a cream cheese glaze for a delicious holiday or special occasion breakfast. Simple ingredients makes these waffles taste amazing.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, cocoa powder, and salt.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, melted and cooled butter, eggs, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, and vinegar until combined.
Add the red gel food coloring a little at a time until the mixture is slightly darker than your desired final color.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined. A few lumps are fine. Do not over mix.
Let the waffle batter rest for 5–10 minutes.
Preheat the waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions and lightly coat it with nonstick cooking spray.
Pour the appropriate amount of batter into the waffle iron and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions. Repeat with the remaining batter.
While the waffles are cooking, prepare the cream cheese glaze. Beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and heavy whipping cream with a hand mixer or stand mixer until smooth and creamy.
Serve the waffles warm with the cream cheese glaze drizzled over the top.
