1cupRed Wine
2TablespoonsOlive Oil
1teaspoonSalt
1teaspoonBlack Pepper
2teaspoonsMinced Garlic
2teaspoonsDried Rosemary
Instructions
Place 4 steaks of your choice (sirloin, ribeye, or New York strip) into a large shallow dish or resealable plastic bag. In a medium bowl, whisk together 1 cup red wine, 2 tablespoons olive oil, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon black pepper, 2 teaspoons minced garlic, and 2 teaspoons dried rosemary until fully combined. Pour the marinade evenly over the steaks, making sure all sides are coated well. Cover the dish or seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or up to 8 hours for maximum flavor.
Preheat the grill over medium high heat (approximately 400 degrees F). Let the steaks sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes prior to grilling.
Place steaks on a hot grill and cook for 3 to 5 minutes depending on your Steak Doneness preference.
Flip the steak over and grill for an additional 3 to 5 minutes until steak is cooked to your preference.
Remove from the grill and allow to rest a minimum of 5 minutes before cutting or serving.
Notes
The best way to test for doneness is by inserting an instant read thermometer into the thickest part of the steak. Do this through the side, not the top of the steak.Steak DonenessRare – 120F, cool to warm red centerMedium Rare – 130F, Warm red centerMedium – 140F, Hot pink centerMedium Well – 150F, Mostly brown centerWell Done – 160F, full brown in color
