Ingredients
1
pound
Dried Black Beans
6
cups
water
1
teaspoon
salt
Instructions
Rinse the dried black beans thoroughly and remove any debris or damaged beans. No soaking is required.
Place the beans in a slow cooker and add the water and salt.
Cover and cook on low for 8–10 hours, or until the beans are tender.
Let the beans cool slightly, then divide them into freezer-safe containers or freezer bags.
Allow the beans to cool completely before freezing.
How to reheat:
For slow cooker recipes: Add the frozen beans directly to the slow cooker with the remaining ingredients and cook as directed.
On the stovetop: Place the frozen beans in a medium saucepan over low heat and cook until thawed and heated through.
For quicker use: Thaw the beans overnight in the refrigerator, then reheat as desired.
