Red Velvet Waffles is served with a cream cheese glaze for a delicious holiday or special occasion breakfast. Simple ingredients makes these waffles taste amazing.
Whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and cocoa powder. Set aside.
In a separate bowl, beat together the eggs, buttermilk, butter, vanilla extract and vinegar on low speed until combined. Add in the red food coloring until the batter is slightly darker red that you would like for the final waffles.
Then pour the buttermilk mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Some lumps are ok. Let the batter rest for 5-10 minutes.
Preheat a waffle iron and spray it with a non-stick cooking spray.
Add the batter to the waffle iron and cook according to the waffle iron’s instructions.
While the waffles are cooking, beat together the glaze ingredients with a hand held or stand up mixture until blended and combined.
Serve the red velvet waffles with the glaze drizzled on top and enjoy!
