In a medium bowl, combine 1 pound ground beef, 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, ½ teaspoon onion powder, ½ teaspoon ground pepper, and 1 teaspoon salt until just combined. Do not overmix the meat or the burgers will be tough.
Divide beef into 4 equal portions, roll into balls and form into patties
Preheat Air Fryer to 370 degrees F. If your air fryer doesn't have a preheat option, then run the air fryer at 370 degrees F for 5 minutes.
Place the 4 patties in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
Cook the patties for 6 minutes, flip them, and continue cooking for 3 to 4 more minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees F.
Add cheese, if using, and cook until cheese is melted, about 1 minute.
Serve immediately with your favorite toppings and enjoy!

Notes
I find that 80/20 beef works best for this recipe to give the best flavor. If you decide to use a lean beef or ground turkey or ground chicken, then reduce the cook time by a few minutes to ensure that the patties do not get overcooked. Refrigerate any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days. The nutritional information just includes the patties not the bun or the toppings for your burgers.
