Ingredients
2
cans
Pilsbury Grand's Biscuits
1
pound
breakfast sausage
2
tablespoons
butter
4
tablespoons
flour
½
tsp
garlic powder
salt and pepper to taste
2
cups
milk
(might need more if gravy is too thick)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Cut 2 cans Pillsbury Grands biscuits into quarters using a pizza cutter.
Spray a 9x13 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
Spread the biscuit pieces evenly across the bottom of the baking dish without pressing them together.
In a medium skillet over medium heat, brown 1 pound breakfast sausage until fully cooked. Drain the grease.
Spoon most of the cooked sausage evenly over the biscuit pieces, leaving a small amount of sausage in the skillet for the gravy.
Place the casserole dish in the oven and bake for approximately 30 minutes until the biscuits are cooked through and lightly golden.
While the casserole finishes baking, return the skillet with the reserved sausage to medium heat and add 2 tablespoons butter.
Once the butter is melted, whisk in 4 tablespoons flour and cook for 1–2 minutes while stirring constantly.
Add ½ teaspoon garlic powder and salt and pepper to taste.
Slowly pour in 2 cups milk while whisking continuously until the gravy is smooth.
Bring the gravy to a gentle boil, stirring constantly until thickened. Add additional milk if the gravy becomes too thick.
Taste the gravy and adjust the salt and pepper if needed.
Remove the casserole from the oven and pour the homemade sausage gravy evenly over the top before serving.
