Blackberry Cobbler is the perfect summertime dessert! This cobbler is made from scratch with a golden brown crust with juicy blackberries. Everything comes together easily for an Old Fashioned dessert everyone loves.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and spray a 9X9 or 3 quart baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
Wash 2 cups fresh blackberries and pat them dry.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together ½ cup melted butter, 1 cup milk, 1 cup all purpose flour, 1 cup granulated sugar, 2 teaspoons baking powder, and ¼ teaspoon salt until combined.
Pour this mixture into the prepared baking dish.
Sprinkle 2 cups fresh blackberries evenly on top of the batter. Top with 2 tablespoons coarse sugar.
Bake for 40-50 minutes until the batter is cooked through and lightly golden brown.
Serve warm topped with vanilla ice and enjoy!

This cobbler is best served within 2 days of making it but you can refrigerate any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days. This cobbler is pretty rich. If you want a less rice cobbler, reduce the butter amount to ¼ cup. Watch the cobbler closely as it cooks and if the top is getting too brown, loosely tent the top of the cobbler with foil to stop the top from burning.
