Recipe Tips
- Rich Flavor – This cobbler is pretty rich. If you want a less rich cobbler, reduce the butter amount to ¼ cup.
- Cooking Time – Watch the cobbler closely as it cooks and if the top is getting too brown, loosely tent the top of the cobbler with foil to stop the top from burning.
- Watery Cobbler – Baking cobbler a little longer could help thicken the texture. Make sure no excessive water is adding when mixing in the blackberries as this could cause the cobbler to be watery. You can also toss the berries with cornstarch if you prefer.
Variations and Additions
- Pie Crust – For a delicious variation, add a premade pie crust dough and skip the biscuit topping.
- Additions – If you prefer, you can add in a teaspoon of ground cinnamon or vanilla extract to the blackberry mixture. For a hint of lemon flavor, add in lemon zest or lemon juice.
- Change the Fruit – Try it with peach, strawberries, cherries, raspberries and blueberries.
