Plus, it’s the perfect base to make all sorts of yummy creations. You can easily add peaches, strawberries, blueberries, chocolate, oreos, caramel and more to make it your own. This base can be turned into whatever your family loves the most. We make this frequently because it is just so easy. Each time I make it, I let a different child decide on the flavor. They look forward to “their week” of customizing the ice cream. And we all enjoy taste testing it. 🙂 Peach is my favorite and I love when it’s peach season. I pick a ton of peaches and make peach ice cream! Yum!
We like making this vanilla easy ice cream recipe because there are so many fun ways to make it extra yummy!
My kids absolutely love when I put out an ice cream topping bar! In fact, one of the kids recently had this at a school party in lieu of cupcakes and other party food. It was a hit all around and the only party I have been to where just about everything was gobbled up. This is also a great idea for birthday celebrations. Make a couple of containers of this delicious homemade vanilla ice cream. Put out all your favorite toppings and the kids can just grab what they want. I have even served this at a dinner party and it was a hit! Everyone loves ice cream!
A few of our favorite toppings include: crushed Oreos, gummy worms, sprinkles, crushed peanut butter cups, fresh fruit like strawberries and more! I also like to serve chocolate syrup or caramel syrup. Our favorite is this trio of Ghirardelli Squeeze Bottles. You get Caramel, Chocolate and White Chocolate. Oh my! It’s the best!!! We have sundae glasses and the kids have a blast making their own special ice cream sundae. You can also get a really cute set of disposable ice cream cups if you are throwing a big party. This set is one of my favorites and comes with everything you need. Find out how to throw the perfect Ice Cream Sundae Party!
Another really amazing idea is to make this Mini Brownie Bites Recipe and serve it with this homemade vanilla ice cream. Top with chocolate syrup and nuts if you like and it is the best hot fudge sundae! If you are feeling extra decadent, top with a little whipped topping and a cherry.
But you know, this ice cream is so amazing all by itself! There is something so classic about a simple cone of vanilla ice cream. Yum! Grab an ice cream cone and put a few scoops in and you will be set! If you have a little extra time, try dipping the edges of the waffle cone in melted chocolate and sprinkles. They look so pretty and taste great too.

How do you make ice cream in a blender?
Have you ever wondered if you can make ice cream in a blender? Well, the answer is yes! This is an easy way to get all your ingredients blended before freezing. This method is really good if you are using frozen fruit and such. There is a yummy recipe for Easy Blender Peach Ice Cream. The blender does a great job.
I have a Vitamix blender it works wonderful. We have had it for many years and it’s still working perfectly. It’s pricey but it has paid for itself time and time again with all the money I have saved making smoothies and milkshakes at home. You will not have to keep replacing it like with the cheaper blenders. Amazon has several of them on sale right now for a great price.

Absolutely loved the ease and convenience of your homemade ice cream recipe. I am making ice cream for a fro up of 120 people, mostly adults and I love how simple this is.
I just tried it for the first time today and I find it a bit too sweet. Is there a way to cut back on the sweetness without losing the consistency of the mix?
Thank you
Cyndy
Carrie says
Cyndy – Maybe try half evaporated milk and half sweetened condensed milk. This will reduce the sugar content in the recipe. Thank you!
