Variations Ideas

My favorite part about this ice cream cake recipe is that it’s super easy to make changes to it to make it your own.

  • Add Fruit – I have made this ice cream cake with fruit instead of the Oreos.  This cake is delicious with strawberries and blueberries in it instead.
  • Change the Oreos – You can easily create a golden Oreo ice cream cake recipe but using golden Vanilla Oreos instead of the chocolate ones for a completely different flavor for this ice cream cake.
  • Chopped Nuts – Add in chopped nuts for added flavor and texture.

  • Softened Ice Cream – To easily combine the ingredients, make sure to soften the ice cream on the counter.
  • To Easily Serve – Warm a sharp knife or spoon with hot water then dry to remove excessive water. Scoop or cut the ice cream and place in a serving dish. Warming the serving utensil helps to easily serve the ice cream.

Yes, you can make it the night before and store it in the freezer. I would let it set out for 20-30 minutes prior to cutting so that it can soften some.
