Why We Love Peach Cobbler

We love making desserts that are made with simple ingredients and this is one of our favorites. Each bite is loaded with peaches and homemade cobbler topping that has the best texture.

Cobblers make the best dessert! We even made Apple Cobbler, Blackberry Cobbler and Easy Cherry Cobbler anytime we have family over, especially for the holidays.

Expert Tips

  • Baking Dish – This recipe is written for a 9×9 cobbler. But you can easily double the recipe and make it in a 9×13 baking dish.
  • Melted Butter – For best results, make sure the melted butter covers the pan. This ensures that the crust is baked with a golden brown crust.
  • Baking Time – Cooking time will vary depending on your oven. But our cobbler was ready after about 40 minutes.
  • Rest Cobbler – We like to allow the cobbler to rest for about 10 minutes before serving. This allows all the ingredients to set before scooping.

Variations Ideas

  • Crust – We love making homemade crust to top this peach cobbler. You can make a biscuit dough with Homemade Bisquick or use a pie crust. I have not tried this cobbler with a gluten free flour, but if you do please leave us know how it turns out.
  • Spices – To change the flavor slightly add in a ½ teaspoon of nutmeg or cinnamon.
  • Lemon Juice – Add in ½ tablespoon of lemon juice for added flavor.

Can I Use Fresh Peaches in this Recipe?

Yes, if you prefer you can make this delicious peach cobbler with fresh sliced peaches. We recommend removing the peel before adding to the batter for best results.

To make this recipe and to ensure each spoonful is full of peaches, start with about 4 medium size peaches. You can always add more if you prefer.
