There's nothing better than the rich and savory flavor of a Butter Burger. A juicy, grilled patty combined with a pat of butter for a truly indulgent experience.
Mix 2 Tablespoons of the butter into the ground beef.
Divide the beef into 4 even patties. Season with the salt and pepper. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add the chopped onions to the skillet and sauté until tender (approximately 5-7 minutes). Reduce the heat on the skillet to look and cook for 3-4 minutes until browned.
Transfer the onions to a separate plate.
Place the patties into the skillet and cook for 4-6 minutes without moving the patties.
Flip the patties and cook on the other side for 4-6 more minutes until the patties are cooked through.
Turn off the heat, top each patty immediately with 1 tablespoon of butter each, ¼ of the sautéd onions and a slice of the cheese. The heat from the pattes should melt the butter and the cheese.
Remove from the skillet and place on the toasted buns.
Serve immediately while warm and enjoy!

Notes
These burgers are best served immediately while warm; however, any leftovers will last for up to 5 days as long as they are refrigerated in an airtight container. I prefer to store the onion, patties and buns separately and then assemble them when ready to serve.
