Condiments of your Choice: KetchupMustard or Mayonnaise
Instructions
In a large bowl, gently mix the ground beef with the salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder.
Divide the beef into equal portions. Divide each portion in half and form each half into a thin patty.
Place shredded cheese in the center of one patty and top with a second patty. Pinch the edges together firmly to completely seal the cheese inside. Repeat with the remaining patties.
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the burgers to the skillet, working in batches if needed. Cook until browned on the bottom.
Flip the burgers and continue cooking until browned and the beef reaches an internal temperature of 160°F.
Transfer the cooked burgers to a plate.
Place the hamburger buns cut-side down in the skillet and toast until lightly browned.
Place lettuce and sliced onion on the bottom buns. Top with the burgers, sliced tomatoes, and your choice of condiments.
Add the top buns and serve warm.
