Red and Green Gel Food Coloring
For the Frosting:
1 ½cupsPowdered Sugar
1-2tablespoonMilk
1teaspoonclear Vanilla Extract
Christmas Sprinklesoptional
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Generously grease a Bundt pan with nonstick cooking spray.
Prepare the white cake mix according to the package directions.
Divide the batter evenly among 3 bowls.
Leave one bowl plain. Tint one bowl red with the red gel food coloring and the remaining bowl green with the green gel food coloring, stirring until each color is vibrant.
Pour the plain batter into the prepared Bundt pan. Spoon dollops of the red and green batters evenly over the top.
Use a butter knife to gently swirl the colors together a few times. Be careful not to overmix, or the colors will blend together.
Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then carefully invert it onto a serving platter or wire rack. Cool completely before frosting.
While the cake cools, whisk together the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and 1 tablespoon of milk. Add additional milk, 1 teaspoon at a time, until the glaze reaches a smooth, pourable consistency.
Drizzle the glaze evenly over the cooled cake. Immediately decorate with the Christmas sprinkles, if using.
Slice, serve, and enjoy!
Notes
Make sure to use gel or paste food coloring to ensure that the colors are vibrant and the red is a bold red and not pink. Store any leftover cake covered in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
