½cuptoppings of choicesprinkles, chopped pecans, festive M&M’s, etc. (may use 1/2-1 cup of topping)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a large baking sheet with foil, then lightly coat it with non-stick spray. Arrange 1 sleeve saltine crackers, approximately 40 crackers, in a single layer to cover the entire pan.
In a medium saucepan, melt 1 cup unsalted butter and 1 cup brown sugar over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low and cook for 3 minutes, stirring often.
Quickly pour the toffee mixture over the crackers, spreading evenly to coat. Bake for 5 minutes.
Remove the pan from the oven and immediately sprinkle 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips on top. Let the chocolate sit for 1 to 2 minutes, then spread it evenly once softened.
Sprinkle ½ cup toppings of choice, such as sprinkles, chopped pecans, or festive M&M’s, over the warm chocolate.
Refrigerate for about 2 hours, or until firm. Peel off the foil and break into pieces before serving.
