Christmas Tree Coffee Cake is perfect for the holidays and made with crescent rolls. This easy Danish recipe is festive and delicious for Christmas morning.
Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 2 long rectangles. Press the seams together to seal.
Cut each rectangle lengthwise into 4 strips, making 8 strips total. Twist each strip several times.
Arrange the twisted strips on the prepared baking sheet to form a Christmas tree. Start at the top and zigzag the dough back and forth, making each row wider than the one above it.
Use the end of the dough to form a small tree trunk at the bottom.
Sprinkle the tree evenly with sugar.
Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly golden brown. Carefully transfer to a serving platter and let cool.
In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and orange juice until smooth.
Drizzle the glaze over the cooled coffee cake and decorate with the halved red and green candied cherries.
Slice and serve.
Notes
