Ingredients

butter
1 stick

all-purpose flour

chicken stock
1
cup
milk or half-and-half

teaspoon
salt
½
teaspoon
pepper
½
teaspoon
garlic powder
½
teaspoon
onion powder

cup
Celery
chopped and sauteed
Instructions
In a medium saucepan, melt ½ cup butter over medium-low heat.
Add 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour and whisk until well combined.
Pour in 1 cup chicken stock and 1 cup milk or half-and-half. Whisk until smooth, about 1-2 minutes.
Season with 1 teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon pepper, ½ teaspoon garlic powder, and ½ teaspoon onion powder.
Bring to a simmer and cook until it begins to thicken, about 3-5 minutes
Stir in ½ cup chopped and sautéed celery.
Remove from heat and allow to cool completely
Store in airtight container in refrigerator
Notes
Refrigerate for 5-7 days or you can easily freeze this soup for 3-6 months to use in future recipes.
