Crock pot cheesy chicken penne recipe is the best comfort food and loaded with tons of creamy chicken and cheesy pasta. The slow cooker does all the work!
Place 3 boneless skinless chicken breasts, 2 (10.5 oz) cans cream of chicken soup, ½ cup chicken broth, 1 teaspoon pepper, ½ teaspoon dried thyme, 1.5 cups sliced mushrooms, and ½ diced onion in the crock pot.
Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
Shred the chicken.
Stir in 1 cup sour cream, 1 lb cooked penne pasta, and 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese.
Stir until melted.
Top with the remaining 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese and cover until melted.
