Instructions
Place 3 boneless skinless chicken breasts into a crock pot.
Season the chicken with 1 teaspoon salt and 1 teaspoon black pepper.
Pour 1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce over the chicken.
Add 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning and 2 teaspoons minced garlic to the crock pot.
Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or on high for 3–4 hours until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.
Shred the chicken directly in the crock pot and stir it back into the sauce.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Slice 1 package Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally and place the bottom half into a 9x13 baking dish.
Spoon the chicken mixture evenly over the bottom half of the rolls.
Top with 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese and 3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese, reserving 1 tablespoon Parmesan cheese for the topping.
Place the top half of the Hawaiian rolls over the cheese layer.
Brush the tops of the rolls with 3 tablespoons melted butter.
Sprinkle the remaining 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese and 1 teaspoon garlic salt over the tops of the rolls.
Cover the pan with aluminum foil and bake for 15–20 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 2–5 minutes until the tops are golden brown.
Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
You can easily use spaghetti sauce, tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes instead of the marinara sauce in this recipe.
