Take chili to the next level when you make Crock Pot Chipotle Chili Recipe. Lots of chipotle peppers, adobo sauce and more come together for a great meal.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook 2 pounds ground beef and ½ diced onion until the beef is browned and the onion is softened, about 8–10 minutes.
Drain any excess grease from the skillet.
Transfer the beef and onion mixture to a slow cooker.
Add 2 teaspoons minced garlic, 2 (15-ounce) cans diced tomatoes, 1 (14-ounce) can tomato sauce, 2 cans black beans (drained and rinsed), 2 chopped chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, 1 cup beef broth, 1 teaspoon chili powder, 1 teaspoon dried oregano, 1 teaspoon ground cumin, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1 teaspoon black pepper.
Stir all ingredients together until well combined.
Cover and cook on LOW for 6 hours or HIGH for 3 hours.
Stir the chili before serving.
Serve hot with optional toppings such as sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, sliced jalapeños, and diced avocado.
