This easy Crock Pot Rice recipe cooks a full batch of light, fluffy rice with just 5 minutes of prep. Make a double batch and freeze the extra — it's a homemade side dish for a fraction of the cost of store-bought rice pouches.
Place 4 cups rice in the bottom of the crockpot and season with 1 teaspoon salt.
Pour 8 cups water over the rice.
Cook on high for 1½ to 2½ hours for white rice.
Fluff with a fork and serve or freeze.

Notes
This recipe is tested in a 6 quart crock pot. A smaller or larger size will still work — just watch that the rice and water don't fill the crock more than two-thirds full.
