Instructions
Cook 16 ounces linguine according to the package instructions. Drain the pasta and reserve some of the pasta water.
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons butter.
Add 2 cups sliced mushrooms and cook for approximately 5 minutes until tender.
Add 3 diced chicken breasts, 2 teaspoons minced garlic, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1 teaspoon pepper to the skillet.
Cook over medium heat for 6–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.
Remove the chicken and mushrooms from the skillet and place them on a separate plate, leaving any remaining sauce in the pan.
In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons butter over medium heat.
Whisk in ¼ cup flour until fully combined.
Slowly whisk in 1 ½ cups chicken broth and 1 ½ cups heavy whipping cream.
Cook the sauce for 5–7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens.
Add the cooked linguine, chicken, and mushrooms back into the skillet and toss until everything is evenly coated in the sauce.
Add some of the reserved pasta water if needed to help combine the sauce and pasta.
Top with ? cup shredded parmesan cheese.
Cover the skillet with a lid for a few minutes until the cheese melts.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
