Ingredients

1 stick unsalted butter

apples
cleaned, cored and cut into slices about ¼ inch thick (Granny Smith or Braeburn apples work well)

ground cinnamon

teaspoon
nutmeg

allspice

teaspoon
ground ginger

brown sugar
Instructions
Wash, core, and slice the apples into ¼-inch thick slices.
Melt the butter in a large cast iron skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat.
Stir in the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and ground ginger until well combined.
Add the sliced apples and gently toss to coat them in the butter and spice mixture.
Cook for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are tender but still hold their shape.
Serve warm or at room temperature.
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
