Grilled teriyaki pork chops recipe has a delicious blend of seasonings combined with smoky grill flavor. These teriyaki style pork chops take minutes to make for a great meal.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, honey, minced garlic, ground ginger, and black pepper until well combined.
Reserve ½ cup of the marinade for the glaze. Pour the remaining marinade over the pork chops in a large bowl or resealable bag. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 8 hours.
Remove the pork chops from the refrigerator 20 minutes before grilling to allow them to come closer to room temperature.
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F). Lightly oil the grill grates to help prevent sticking.
Grill the pork chops for 5–6 minutes per side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F. If the chops begin to brown too quickly because of the sugars in the marinade, reduce the heat slightly.
Transfer the pork chops to a plate and let them rest for 3–5 minutes.
While the pork rests, whisk the reserved marinade with the cornstarch in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, whisking constantly, until the sauce thickens, about 2–3 minutes.
Brush the thickened glaze over the pork chops before serving.
Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.
Notes
Use an instant read thermometer to check the internal temperature of the pork to do when it's done cooking. Each pork chop will cook differently based on the thickness of the pork.
