How to Grill Pork Chops

  • Step 1 – Heat the gas grill over medium high heat. It needs to be at least 400 degrees F and rub the grill gates with olive oil so that the pork chops do not stick while grilling.
  • Step 2 – Place pork chops on the grill and cook. Cook for 5-6 minutes per side (based on the thickness of the pork chops) until the pork reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees F. The pork will release naturally from the grill gates when it’s ready to flip. If the pork is browning too quickly because of the sugar in the marinade, reduce the temperature on the grill.
  • Step 3 – Allow the cooked pork chops to rest. Move the pork chops to a plate and let them rest for 3 to 5 minutes before serving.
  • Step 4 – Mix the reserved sauce. While the pork is cooking, mix the remaining sauce with the cornstarch. Heat this mixture in a sauce pan over medium high heat, whisking constantly until the mixture has thickened.
  • Step 5 – Baste the meat. Brush this sauce over the grilled pork chops when serving and enjoy! Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Recipe Tips

  • Marinade – Marinade the pork chops for at least 30 minutes, but you can easily marinate the pork chops up to 8 hours. Make sure to reserve unused marinade so that you can baste the pork chops after grilling.
  • Prepare the Grill – Prepare the grill by oiling the grill grates so the pork chops do not still.
  • Meat Thermometer – To ensure your pork chops are fully cooked, check internal temperature with a meat thermometer.
