Now to make Skewer Sticks!
You will need skewers. I used wooden ones but you can use metal skewers as well. If you use wooden ones, soak them in water before you use them. It only takes a few minutes. I also like to use this breading set to easily coat the chicken. It makes it so easy and clean up is a breeze.
Ingredients for Chicken Stick:
- Skewers -you can use wooden or metal ones
- boneless skinless chicken breasts (you can also use chicken thighs)
- 1/2 BBQ Sauce (we like Sweet Baby Ray’s)
- 1/2 water
- about a 1 cup of bread crumbs (I used italian bread crumbs -you can make your own with bread, croutons, or with stop top stuffing)
How to make Chicken on a Stick:
- Slice chicken in to 1 1/2 to 2 inch wide strips. Slide the skewers up chicken slices the long way.
- Place the water and BBQ sauce in a small bowl and whisk together.
- Place bread crumbs on a plate.
- Rolls the chicken one at a time into the BBQ sauce and then in the bread crumbs. Repeat this process for each chicken on a stick.
- Once they are all coated, you can either grill them, broil them or bake them. We grilled them but you can do what suits your family.
