It’s nice to have something on the regular menu plan rotation that I know everyone will eat. They are super yummy served with Foil Pack Grilled Potatoes and Grilled Green Beans. Sometimes we also have Grilled Corn. It takes very little time to make this meal and it’s not expensive at all. Definitely a winner in my book!
Now to make Skewer Sticks!
You will need skewers. I used wooden ones but you can use metal skewers as well. If you use wooden ones, soak them in water before you use them. It only takes a few minutes. I also like to use this breading set to easily coat the chicken. It makes it so easy and clean up is a breeze.
Ingredients for Chicken Stick:
- Skewers -you can use wooden or metal ones
- boneless skinless chicken breasts (you can also use chicken thighs)
- 1/2 BBQ Sauce (we like Sweet Baby Ray’s)
- 1/2 water
- about a 1 cup of bread crumbs (I used italian bread crumbs -you can make your own with bread, croutons, or with stop top stuffing)
How to make Chicken on a Stick:
- Slice chicken in to 1 1/2 to 2 inch wide strips. Slide the skewers up chicken slices the long way.
- Place the water and BBQ sauce in a small bowl and whisk together.
- Place bread crumbs on a plate.
- Rolls the chicken one at a time into the BBQ sauce and then in the bread crumbs. Repeat this process for each chicken on a stick.
- Once they are all coated, you can either grill them, broil them or bake them. We grilled them but you can do what suits your family.
