Make Hamburger Gravy is a classic, comfort food recipe that is loaded with flavor and easy to make! Each bite is delicious, satisfying and makes the best meal idea.
Brown 1 pound lean ground beef with ½ finely diced onion in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Break up the beef as it cooks and continue to cook until the beef is no longer pink.
Add 2 cloves minced garlic or 2 teaspoons minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
Make an open place in the middle of the pan by moving the ground beef away from the center. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in the center of the pan, then stir in 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour to create a roux.
Stir all the ingredients together with the beef mixture and cook for 2 minutes.
Stir in 1 cup milk, 1 cup beef broth, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, ½ teaspoon salt, and ½ teaspoon black pepper.
Simmer on low for 5-10 minutes until the sauce is thickened and bubbly.
Serve warm over mashed potatoes, rice or biscuits. Enjoy!

Notes
Refrigerate the leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5-6 days. The gravy will thicken as it sits, so stir in more broth or water when reheating to thin it back out to the correct consistency. If you would like a creamier hamburger gravy, you can increase the milk to 1 ½ cups and reduce the beef broth to ½ cup.
