Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
Arrange the bacon slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they do not overlap.
Bake for 15-22 minutes, depending on the thickness of the bacon and your desired level of crispiness. Thin-cut bacon may be done closer to 15 minutes, while thick-cut bacon may take 20-22 minutes or longer.
The bacon is ready when it is deep golden brown and most of the fat has rendered.
Transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain. The bacon will continue to crisp slightly as it cools before serving.
Notes
Watch closely during the last few minutes. Bacon can go from perfectly crispy to overcooked very quickly.
For extra crispy bacon, leave it in the oven for an additional 1-2 minutes, checking frequently.
Using a wire rack is optional. Placing the bacon on an oven-safe wire rack set inside the baking sheet allows the fat to drip away as it cooks, but baking it directly on parchment still produces excellent crispy bacon and makes cleanup easier.
