Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line an 8X8 baking dish with parchment paper making sure that the paper overhangs the edges of the pan. Set the pan aside.
With a hand held or stand mixer cream together the butter with brown sugar until creamy and fluffy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl.
Add the eggs and the vanilla extract into the mixture. Beat until combined.
Mix in 1 cup of Nutella and the salt until combined.
Gently stir the flour into the batter by hand and be careful not to over mix the batter.
Then gently stir in the chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan into a single layer.
Drop spoonfuls of the remaining Nutella on top of the batter and use a knife to spread the Nutella into the batter.
Bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the brownies comes out clean. Make sure to not insert the toothpick into the Nutella on top of the brownies. Be careful not to over bake the brownies.
Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool completely on a wire rack.
Once cooled, carefully remove the brownies from the pan with the parchment paper and cut into squares. Then the brownies are ready to serve and enjoy!
Notes
Store any leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. Each oven cooks differently, make sure to watch the brownies closely while they are cooking and be careful not to over cook.
