Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup warm water, 1 package active dry yeast, and 2 tablespoons granulated sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
Stir in 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil and 1 teaspoon salt.
Gradually mix in 3 ½ cups flour until a dough forms.
Knead the dough for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Divide the dough into 12 equal portions and roll each piece into a breadstick shape.
Place the breadsticks on the prepared baking sheet and let rest for 15–20 minutes.
Bake for 12–15 minutes until lightly golden brown.
In a small bowl, combine 6 tablespoons melted unsalted butter, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1 teaspoon garlic powder.
Brush the garlic butter mixture over the warm breadsticks before serving.
