Brown 1 lb ground beef, ½ diced onion, and 2 tsp minced garlic in a large skillet or stock pan until the beef is no longer pink. Drain off any excess grease.
Stir in 2 tbsp homemade taco seasoning, 1 cup salsa, 1 can tomato sauce (8 oz), 2 cups beef broth, and 1 ¼ cup uncooked pasta shells.
Stir to combine and bring the mixture to a boil.
Cover and reduce the heat to low and simmer over medium-low heat stirring occasionally for approximately 20 minutes or until the pasta is tender.
Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese.
Notes
Refrigerate the leftovers in an air tight container for up to 5-7 days. I love using pasta shells for this recipe but rotini or penne pasta would work great in this recipe too!
