Generously spray a 9x9-inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray. For thinner treats, use an 11x7-inch or 9x13-inch pan.
Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat.
Stir in the pumpkin puree and cook until warmed through.
Add the mini marshmallows and cook, stirring frequently, until completely melted.
Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
Let the marshmallow mixture cool at room temperature for 20 minutes. This helps prevent the treats from becoming soggy.
Add the crispy rice cereal and gently stir until evenly coated.
Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan and spread it evenly. Gently press the mixture into the pan with a rubber spatula.
Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until set.
Cut into 12 squares. Melt the white chocolate and drizzle it over the treats before serving.
