Try authentic Slow Cooker Pork Carnitas Recipe for a meal that is tasty and easy. From tacos and burritos to salads and more, this pork is sure to impress.
In a small bowl, mix together 1 tablespoon dried oregano, 1 tablespoon chili powder, 2 teaspoons cumin, 1 teaspoon black pepper, and 2 teaspoons salt.
Pat the 4 pound boneless pork shoulder dry and rub the seasoning mixture on all sides of the pork.
Place the seasoned pork shoulder in a crock pot. Add 1 diced white onion, 1 tablespoon minced garlic, the juice from 2 fresh limes, and the juice from 2 oranges.
Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-5 hours until the pork is easy to shred.
Shred the pork.
Preheat the broiler.
Place the shredded pork on a foil covered baking sheet.
Broil for 5-6 minutes or until the pork begins to brown and gets crispy.
Serve immediately while warm and enjoy!
Notes
Refrigerate the leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days. You can use a pork butt instead of a pork shoulder in this recipe if you prefer.

Boil Meat – To get that crispy edges on the meal, we like to broil the meat. You can also pan fry the meat to create a crispy texture.
Use Different Seasoning – For added flavor, mix in some onion powder or garlic powder. Feel free to add in vegetables for added flavor. Bell Peppers are a great addition to these pork.
Change the Meat – You can use pork or chicken with this recipe. Pork and Chicken shred very easily and can be also be used in many different ways.
