Instructions
In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar until well combined.
In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
Spread about 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture onto each of two slices of bread, leaving a small border around the edges.
Pat the sliced strawberries dry with a paper towel, then arrange them in a single layer on one slice of bread. Top with the second slice to make a sandwich. Repeat with the remaining bread and filling.
Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Work in batches, adding more butter as needed.
Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides, then transfer immediately to the hot skillet.
Cook for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Serve warm with powdered sugar, maple syrup, additional fresh strawberries, or whipped cream, if desired.
