2 Blueberry Spinach Smoothies with spinach leaves scattered around them.

This is  my favorite healthy blueberry smoothie recipe.

I’m not going to lie. I’m loving my green smoothies. They are helping me add in more fiber and more greens into my diet, which then leads me to feeling so much better.

I feel like I’m have more energy throughout the day. Unlike many smoothie recipes you will find, this one doesn’t have any added sugar into it.

It is not overly sweet but it I think I like it like that. If it was much sweeter, I don’t think I would like it.

Easy Spinach Blueberry Yogurt Smoothie

Now there is two variations to this green smoothie recipe.  I know it isn’t green, but since it is packed with spinach, I feel like it still sticks with the green smoothie family. 🙂

You can either make this spinach smoothie with greek yogurt or a banana. Either one will give you that nice and creamy texture.

I like both ways. It just depends on what I am going with.

Blueberry spinach smoothie ingredients:

  • Spinach
  • Milk
  • Blueberries
  • Yogurt
  • Banana
  • Ice
Overview of the ingredients to make the smoothie: spinach, blueberry, milk, yogurt and banana.

How to make blueberry spinach smoothie:

First you need to blend the spinach and water together. This step will make sure your spinach is blended well.

According to my sister, this is a very important step. Like… very important.

That last thing you want is stringy spinach in your drink. I haven’t had this problem, but that is probably because I have always followed her advice. 🙂

Once you have it blended it, you can add the rest of your ingredients. Today we will add in the blueberries the banana, and a little bit of ice. (Remember, if you want you can have Greek yogurt instead of a banana for a slightly different flavor.)

Freezer idea: You can also freeze these in individual cups. Then when you are ready to eat, just let them sit on the counter for a few minutes.

This is perfect for a quick breakfast or snack on the go especially during busy weekdays. We love having these in the freezer for quick treats to grab and go.

I am all about making life easier and quick grab and go meals like this in the freezer help to take the stress out of meal time. These are perfect for traveling and you can just grab a smoothie out of the freezer.

Make sure you have a good blender!

I have a Vitamix and I love it. It is old and is still going on strong. Now, it is quite the investment to get one, but it is one investment that won’t disappoint.

This will be the last blender you ever had to buy. Amazon has several of them on sale right now for a great price.

Now if a Vitamix isn’t in your budget, then I recommend a Waring professional blender. They are going to get the job done. Now they are not as great as a Vitamix, but they are the next best for a much more reasonable cost.

Amazon has several Waring blenders on sale right now.

Either way, I know you will be able to enjoy delicious and smooth fruit smoothie with any one of these blenders.

Try this blueberry spinach smoothie.

Now remember, you can enjoy a greek yogurt spinach smoothie if you opt to blend in a half cup of greek yogurt instead of the banana. You smoothie will be packed with protein and other added benefits from greek yogurt.

Try smoothies for breakfasts and more. You can make these your own by using orange juice, almond milk, coconut milk or anything you prefer. Almond milk is a tasty dairy free option.

Feel free to use frozen spinach, frozen berries if that is easier for you. Another idea is to try adding protein powder.
